Cartagena (continued), Colombia, March 2020

This post is going to be mostly photos and little text. Cartagena is so colorful that I wanted to take a picture of every street in its arts district Getsemani. These photos got to be posted somewhere.

Rest assured that I have a lot more pictures but I have to stop myself because I need to share photos of the KGB bar.

It was a strange place to bump into in the heart of Cartagena. Who would expect to find a Russian-themed bar there?

We first came across it during the day when the bar was closed. So, we returned to it later to see what it’s like inside.

The bar’s two rooms were crammed with Russian and Soviet memorabilia.

We asked the bartender where they got all these objects from. He confirmed that they came from Russia but did not explain how the bar acquired them

Then we told the bartender that we are Russians and asked if this made us eligible for a free drink. He did not take the bait and gave us the menu.

One room was filled with military objects like submarine parts and devices, charts, uniforms, and protective equipment.
